Most San Antonio-area districts are out for winter break from Dec. 21, 2026, through Jan. 1, 2027. Northside, North East, Comal and Alamo Heights ISD students go back Jan. 5, SAISD students on Jan. 6 and Boerne ISD students on Jan. 12. Camps include The DoSeum's three-day holiday camps and San Antonio Zoo's School Break Camp for grades K to 5. Some DoSeum camps are already sold out.

Tips for booking

  • Book early. Several DoSeum holiday camps are already sold out.
  • Check the age rule. The Zoo camp goes by grade (K to 5), and The DoSeum splits camps into ages 3 to 4, 5 to 7 and 8 to 11.
  • Pack a lunch for the Zoo camp and NEISD Kids' Camps.
  • Ask about aftercare. The Zoo has aftercare until 4:30 p.m. for an extra fee.
  • If you only need a day or two, Powerhouse Gymnastics and Endurance Elite sell single days.

When is winter break 2026 in San Antonio?

Most districts are out Dec. 21, 2026, through Jan. 1, 2027. Northside, North East, Comal and Alamo Heights ISD students go back Tuesday, Jan. 5. SAISD starts break Dec. 18 and goes back Wednesday, Jan. 6. Boerne ISD students go back Tuesday, Jan. 12.

What camps are open over winter break in San Antonio?

The DoSeum and San Antonio Zoo both run winter break camps, and the YMCA at O.P. Schnabel runs a Holiday Camp Dec. 21 to 23 and Dec. 28 to 30. The list on this page shows every camp we have, with ages, hours and prices.

How much do winter break camps cost?

The DoSeum's three-day camps are $200 for members and $220 for nonmembers for ages 5 to 11, and $140 or $160 for ages 3 to 4. San Antonio Zoo's camp is $260 for Dec. 21 to 24 and $310 for Dec. 28 to Jan. 1. The YMCA hasn't printed a price for its Holiday Camp.

Are there winter break camps for 4 year olds?

The DoSeum runs holiday camps for ages 3 to 4, but both winter break sessions for that age are sold out. Pick age 4 in the filters to see other camps that take 4 year olds.

Are there camps over Thanksgiving break?

Yes. Thanksgiving break is Nov. 23 to 27, 2026 for Northside, North East, SAISD, Comal, Boerne and Alamo Heights ISD. The DoSeum, San Antonio Zoo and the YMCA's Friendsgiving Camp (Nov. 23 to 25, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) all run camps that week.
