- San Antonio Botanical Garden: Open daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in November. Little Sprouts Hike is Tuesdays at 10 a.m. through Nov. 17 (ages 5 and under, with admission). Weekday tickets are cheaper (Mon to Thu).
- San Antonio Zoo: Open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The DoSeum, Witte Museum and Scobee Planetarium: Good weekday museum days. Check each place for hours on the exact date.

- Brackenridge Park and Yanaguana Garden: Free outdoor time downtown and near the zoo.
- Government Canyon State Natural Area: Open daily. Gate 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tue to Thu, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fri to Mon. $6 adults, free ages 12 and under. It often fills, so reserve a day pass.
