About this camp
This class is designed to introduce students to the concept of hidden caches using a map, GPS coordinates, and basic directions. We will search for treasures on the SMH campus, while learning how to use a compass, GPS, and maps. Students will be given hints with riddles or geographic instructions and will learn how to find a location using common mapping terms. They will come home with small "swag" items from their search each day. Geocaches can be easy to spot but sometimes can be quite challenging to locate. Dress for walking/hiking and warm weather. It's an adventure every day with treasure at the end!
